There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Capable Magazine only accepts submissions via submittable, not via email.
Response times may vary.
Please allow us up to four months to respond. It probably won't take that long, but it might. We don't understand "the future" anymore.
If you worry you might be discriminated against for writing about a disability or illness, please do fiction or poetry. We will not judge you. Not one bit.
As of November 2020, we have run out of money, or, rather, the ability to transfer money in a sane amount of time. Due to COVID and international restrictions, we will be paying the authors we need to pay but taking no more paid clients. We apologize for this unfortunate development, and we will do everything we can to promote your work across the universe.
A few no-nos:
* No previously published work. We want to be your first.
* We want to hear from you, but only within 3k words or 5 poems (or five pages of poetry).
* Don't be spammy, but DO check up with us at capablemagazine@gmail.com. If you have a logistical problem, that's where you can reach the team.
We retain first electronic rights and after that it would be great if you mentioned us in any future successes regarding said publication.

We like a good success story, and we will do our best to promote your work, in perpetuity.
